David Allen

From Albany, Oregon, David Allen graduated from BYU with a Bachelor of Music in Commercial Music with an emphasis in Media and Film Composition. As a student, David worked for four years as the Assistant to the Band Director, Eric Hansen, and arranged the majority of Randy Boothe’s final show, Souvenirs. During his time as the band assistant and trombone player, he was fortunate to tour to Brazil, China, and various surrounding states in the US.

He also was the founder and acted as artistic director for 1AChord, a BYU A Cappella Club group, from 2015-2019. In addition to Young Ambassadors and 1AChord, he performed with BYU Synthesis (Brazil Tour), Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble, Cougar Marching Band, Pep Band, Jazz Combos, and Trombone Choir.

David served a mission for the LDS church to Sierra Leone Freetown and Ghana Cape Coast from 2013-15.

David is also a freelance studio performer and media composer, most recently recording for Blomberg Music Productions and Bobby St. Mute. davidjallenmusic.com

In addition to directing the Young Ambassadors Show Band, David teaches private lessons to low brass students through Miles Ahead Music, centered in American Fork.
